I brought together The Brief DVD as an idea derived my time spent as a moderator on the Core77 Discussion Boards (I am also known as ip_wirelessly).  I have always been inspired by watching other Designer’s work, but I have the patience of a 3-year old when it comes to sitting and watching “how-to” videos.  I have a pile of Design Books collecting dust because I look through them once or twice, but I don’t get to “see” how they do it so they get forgotten about quickly.

As a moderator of the Core77 Discussion boards, I watch the reaction people have when they see someone throw down a great sketch, or a cool video.  I wanted to do something that was able to teach, inspire, and hold the attention of others like me who feel they learn best by watching others.  Who better to ask than collegues who are some of the best in the business:  Michael DiTullo, Spencer Nugent, William Vespa, and Benjamin Lloyd.  They didn’t disappoint.

Jon Winebrenner

Jon Winebrenner is a founding partner of OneOak Design, Inc. based Delta, BC Canada (a suburb of Vancouver).  He is an active board member of the British Columbia Industrial Design Society and actively works to rise the tide of Design in Vancouver and around the world.  Jon has taught as an adjunct professor at Emily Carr Univeristy of Art and Design and lectured at the University of British Columbia Sauder School of Business. He also acts as a moderator for the Core77 Discussion Forums where he created and works with Core77.com to run the One Hour Design Competition.
